**Cassandra Database Administrator Role Summary**We are seeking a skilled Cassandra Database Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our data management team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance, highly available Cassandra clusters.Key Responsibilities:
  • Cluster Design and Implementation: Design and implement high-performance, highly available Cassandra clusters that meet the requirements of our applications.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor cluster health, node status, and replication factors to identify and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Data Modeling and Performance Tuning: Optimize Cassandra data models, partitions, and compaction strategies to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS standards by implementing robust security measures such as authentication, role-based access control, and encryption.
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery: Develop and manage backup and restore strategies using node tool snapshots to ensure business continuity in case of disasters.
Requirements:
  • Strong Experience with Cassandra: A minimum of 3 years of experience with Apache Cassandra (Open Source, DataStax, Scylla DB) is required.
  • CQL and Data Modelling Skills: Proficiency in CQL (Cassandra Query Language) and data modelling is necessary.
  • Linux and Cloud Skills: Hands-on experience with Linux (Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS) and cloud-managed Cassandra services (AWS Key spaces, Azure Cosmos DB, Google Cloud Bigtable) is required.
  • Monitoring Tools and Scripting Skills: Familiarity with Cassandra monitoring tools (DataStax OpsCenter, Prometheus, Grafana) and scripting skills (Bash, Python, Ansible) is desired.
