Job Description

The position of Financial Strategist will oversee the financial function for a new hotel in India. As a key member of the leadership team, this role champions, develops and implements property-wide strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed customer expectations.

This includes providing financial expertise to enable the successful implementation of business initiatives while maximizing return on investment. Additionally, it involves creating and executing a comprehensive business plan that aligns with the property's strategy and focuses on delivering desirable financial results.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning and Decision Making: Develops means to improve profit by estimating costs and benefits, exploring new business opportunities, etc.
  • Analyzes information, forecasts sales against expenses and creates annual budget plans.
  • Compiles information, analyzes and monitors actual sales against projected sales.
  • Identifies underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down data into separate parts.
  • Thinks creatively to develop, execute and implement new business plans.
  • Creates the annual operating budget for the property.
  • Provides analytical support during budget reviews to identify cost-saving and productivity opportunities.
  • Implements controls to manage business risks.
  • Safeguards assets, improves operations and profitability through a strong accounting and operational control environment.
  • Leads the development and implementation of a comprehensive annual business plan aligned with company strategy.
  • Monitors operating department's actual and projected sales.
  • Produces accurate forecasts to enable operations to react to changes in the business.

Leadership Requirements:

  • Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence and encourage others; advocates sound decision making; demonstrates honesty and integrity.
  • Leverages strong functional leadership and communication skills to influence executive teams and lead own team.
  • Oversees internal, external and regulatory audit processes.
  • Assigns clear accountability backed by authority to team members and other departments' managers.
  • Conducts performance appraisals according to Standard Operating Procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • CA/MBA/Masters degree with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 10+ years experience in accounting preferably with the hotel industry.
