Danfoss is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing power electronic products and solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design visualization efforts with 3D CAD models and component details to explore multiple design options.
• Developing innovative designs to meet performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability requirements.
• Developing engineering design concepts for components and electromechanical assemblies with stringent size, precision, reliability, and cost requirements.
• Perform analytical modeling, simulation, and analysis using simulation software on thermal, structural, and vibration simulations.
• Perform tolerance stack up calculations and use Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
• Preparation and presentation of design analysis reports and part/assembly drawing reviews with stakeholders.
• Develop product, component test, and purchase specifications and perform mechanics-related engineering and approval plan tests.
• Coordinate with suppliers/vendors on parts/subsystems/systems manufacturing qualification and documentation.
• Create detail drawings and communicate with suppliers during prototype development.

Success Criteria

• Assigned activities vs. deliverables (quality, time, and cost)
• Meet the agreed performance agreement vs. criteria to be measured.

Requirements

Education

• Essential: Mechanical Engineering degree
• Desirable: ME on CAD/CAM or Engineering Design.

Experience

• Experience of 2-5 years with a proven mechanical design and development track record.
• Essential: Pro/E and PDM link, bus bars and cables, industry standards, safety regulations, sheet metal technologies, plastics design and manufacturing, wire harness design and manufacturing, fasteners, joining methods, knowledge of electrical power and controls components, PCBA-3D MCAD integration in product.
• Desirable: Design for X (assembly, testability, serviceability, quality, and cost), knowledge in design for automation and manual assembly, exposure to global product design and development.
