GIS Solutions Architect Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled GIS solutions architect with experience in designing, implementing and optimizing geospatial solutions and enterprise architectures.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Enterprise GIS Architecture Design: Lead the design and implementation of enterprise GIS architectures, ensuring robust and scalable GIS solutions aligned with business needs.
  2. GIS Platform Integration and Customization: Architect, configure and integrate GIS software with enterprise systems. Customize front-end interfaces to enhance GIS functionalities.
  3. Spatial Database Management: Design and manage spatial databases using Oracle Spatial, SQL Server and PostgreSQL. Ensure efficient storage, retrieval and management of geospatial data.
  4. Data Management and Workflows: Develop and implement data workflows, including ETL processes, data mapping and data cleansing, to ensure data quality and integrity across GIS systems.
  5. Geospatial Toolkits and Application Development: Utilize geospatial toolkits for developing GIS applications and solving complex geospatial problems.
  6. API and Web Services Integration: Architect and implement REST, SOAP, WFS and WMS APIs to enhance GIS functionalities and enable seamless integration with other enterprise systems.
  7. Solution Optimization and Performance: Continuously optimize GIS solutions to improve performance, scalability and data accuracy. Stay updated with the latest GIS technologies and methodologies.
  8. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical guidance and deliver GIS solutions that meet business needs.
  9. Documentation and Training: Create comprehensive documentation of GIS architectures, data workflows and integration processes. Provide training and support to end-users and technical teams.
