Job Title: Technical Author/Writer for Communication Equipment

We are seeking a skilled Technical Author/Writer to support the development of technical documentation for communication equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong domain knowledge in communication systems and excellent technical writing skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, edit, and maintain high-quality technical documentation for radio sets, tactical communication systems, satellite communication systems, command and control systems, electronic warfare communication, network infrastructure, navigation and positioning systems, and specialized equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to gather technical information.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.

Required Qualifications:

  • First Class BE/BTech/ME/MTech/MCA/MSc in Engineering or Science disciplines.
  • Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in technical writing for science/technology projects in government or private sectors.
  • Certification in Technical Writing from a reputed institute is essential.
  • Diploma in Technical Writing is desirable.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong domain knowledge of communication equipment.
  • Understanding of user requirements and operational environments.
  • Proficiency in technical writing tools and software.
  • Ability to write for international clients with clarity and precision.

Tool Expertise:

  • Operating Systems: Windows, Linux/Unix, Ubuntu.
  • Office Suites: MS Office, OpenOffice, LibreOffice, LaTeX.
  • Project Management: MS Project or equivalent.
  • Design Tools: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CorelDRAW.

Good to Have Skills:

  • Experience in preparing various documents such as system engineering management plans, project management plans, quality management plans, data management plans, certification of conformance, software/hardware documentation, preliminary and critical reports, configuration documents, mission documents, progress reports, criticality and reliability analysis, trial plans, procedures, failure and closure reports, spare parts list and bill of materials, material safety data sheets, quality assurance plan, acceptance test procedure, qualification test procedure, test/specification plans, inspection, repair and maintenance plans, processing and manufacturing methods, user handbooks and operator manuals, troubleshooting guides, assembly/disassembly sequences, calibration plans, special maintenance tools and test equipment, transfer of technology documents, risk management plans, system safety assessments, hazard analysis reports, project/technology related documents, and policy and guideline documents.
