Job Title: Senior Linux Systems Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Linux Systems Manager to lead the management and administration of our Linux server infrastructure. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment, with expertise in Linux server operating systems, virtualization technologies, and team leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Linux Server Management: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux server hardware and software to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of Linux system administrators, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise to achieve business objectives.
  • Server Maintenance: Ensure the smooth operation of Linux servers by implementing proactive maintenance strategies, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues promptly.
  • Security and Compliance: Develop and implement robust security measures to protect server environments from unauthorized access and ensure compliance with industry best practices.
  • Patch Management: Plan and execute patch management strategies to keep servers updated with security patches, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.
  • Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor server performance, identify bottlenecks, and resolve issues proactively to maintain high levels of service quality.
  • Backup and Recovery: Design and implement reliable backup and disaster recovery solutions to minimize downtime and data loss in the event of a disaster or hardware failure.
  • Automation: Leverage scripting and automation tools (Bash, Ansible, Python) to streamline server management processes, improve efficiency, and reduce manual errors.
  • Capacity Planning: Assess future infrastructure needs and make recommendations for scaling server resources to meet business demands.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in leading Linux server teams and managing large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Strong expertise in Linux server operating systems (CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat) and virtualization technologies (KVM, VMware).
  • Excellent knowledge of server hardware, storage, and networking concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex server issues.
  • Experience with scripting and automation (Bash, Python, Ansible) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is highly desirable.
