Picker/Packer Role Overview

The picker packer position involves selecting items from a warehouse, packing them, and preparing them for shipping or delivery. This role may also include transporting products.

Pickering:

  • Use customer orders to locate items in the warehouse and pick them up.
  • Verify that the quantity and color of the items match the order.

Packing:

  • Wrap and cushion items and place them in boxes.
  • Lable the boxes with the order number, quantity, and product details.

Order System Updates:

  • Utilize software to indicate that an order has been fulfilled and is ready for shipment.

Work Area Maintenance:

  • Remove excess items and wrappers after packing to prevent mixing of products.

Inventory Management:

  • Keep the inventory catalog up-to-date by scanning products when collecting them.

Quality Control:

  • Inspect products for damage or defects before shipping.

Equipment Operation:

  • Operate forklifts, pallet wrappers, pallet jacks, and other equipment.

Safety Protocols:

  • Adhere to safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment.
