Job Title

A Energy Storage Engineer is responsible for designing and managing energy storage systems, including battery-based systems.

  1. The individual will lead the electrical design of battery-based energy storage systems, incorporating knowledge of PCS, BMS, EMS, and SCADA designs.
  2. Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations in the USA is required.
  3. The candidate should have experience as an owner's engineer, overseeing the review of technical documents and installations to determine compliance.
  4. Knowledge of fundamental aspects and main characteristics of current battery technologies and their relation to battery parameters is essential.
  5. The Energy Storage Engineer will prepare FAT and integration test plans for BESS systems, perform technical reviews of vendor-provided documents, and manage project bids and projects throughout their life cycle.
  6. They will also conduct electrical testing using appropriate PPE and procedures.
  7. Attending training sessions on equipment provided by manufacturers and approved by managers is a requirement.
Requirements
  1. A minimum of 2 years of total experience in BESS (Battery Energy Storage System).
  2. A bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a relevant field is required. Candidates with a Ph.D. in similar fields are welcome.
  3. The candidate should be able to read and comprehend electrical and mechanical schematics, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations.
  4. A minimum of three years of electrical knowledge/training experience in BESS is required.
  5. Good organization, communication, analytical, planning, time management, and customer service skills are essential.
  6. Competent skills in Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Excel, and Word, are necessary.
  7. Client management, team management, and process management skills are also required.
  8. Knowledge of other electrical and PV software is an added advantage.
