Senior Laboratory Operations Specialist

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough testing of soil, water, and product biodegradation studies in marine, soil, compost, and anaerobic environments.
  • Manage daily laboratory operations, ensuring seamless execution of tasks.
  • Verify the accuracy of analysis results and address technical issues that arise during routine testing. Collaborate with the Head of Laboratory for critical issues.
  • Coordinate lab assignments for Analysts and Lab Technicians, ensuring efficient workload distribution.
  • Compile and verify data from lab testing, documenting and maintaining accurate records for customer quality control samples.
  • Analyze and compile quality control sample results to ensure precision and optimize process efficiency.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for laboratory analysts.
  • Oversee lab equipment and supply inventory management, coordinating replacements or repairs as needed.
  • Perform instrument calibrations and maintenance according to schedule.
  • Act as a secondary support to the Laboratory Manager in their absence.
  • Investigate and implement corrective actions for non-conforming products and near misses.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in laboratory operations, preferably within the testing, inspection, and certification industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining internal and external client relationships.

Education Qualification: Master's degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, or Biotechnology.

Experience: 5-7 years of relevant experience in the service industry.
