Senior CAD Systems Administrator

The Goodyear Tire and Rubber company is seeking a skilled Senior CAD Systems Administrator to play a crucial role in the delivery and maintenance of an integrated CAD platform. This position involves working with a cross-functional group of engineers to support value creation in a global R&D organization. Key responsibilities include system and infrastructure architecture, day-to-day maintenance, and end-user support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support CAD platform and troubleshoot issues at the intersection of operating systems, servers, storage, and network.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional R&D teams.
  • Maintain and patch existing systems, plan and execute new installations and upgrades.
  • Coordinate infrastructure changes with internal and external partners.
  • E nsure the environment is secure and follows organizational and industry standards.
  • Proactively monitor systems, driving consistent availability.
  • Maintain and enhance disaster recovery plans.
  • Explore new solutions, create value, and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Regular work in CET time zone hours, production-environment changes outside of business working hours.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science.
  • 6-10 years of experience managing CAD system infrastructure.
  • Strong experience with CAD systems from a system administrator's perspective (CATIA preferred).
  • Experience in one of the following domains would be an advantage: remote access systems, PLM infrastructure, AWS infrastructure, DevSecOps.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Operating systems (Windows Server, Windows client systems, basic Linux).
  • Good scripting skills (one of popular languages: PowerShell, bash, or Python).
  • Basic network and security skills.
  • Excellent planning and troubleshooting skills.
  • ITIL certification or similar, user-level experience with ticketing and monitoring systems.
  • Efficient communication and customer service skills.
  • Active team participation, effective listening, and collaboration skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to timely, high-quality, and error-free deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proactive issue management and comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Ability to present ideas and solutions in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Guide and coordinate less-experienced team members.
