Job Title: Electrical Engineer

  • Design high-voltage electrical systems for transmission and distribution networks, including concept, FEED, and detail design.
  • Experience in designing HV/LV distribution systems for the oil and gas sector is a plus.
  • Perform primary and secondary system design, preparing key Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), Protection & Control SLDs, schematics, AC/DC SLDs, LVAC system design, cable schedules, interconnection schedules, and bulk material takeoffs (MTOs).
  • Develop layouts for outdoor switchyards, indoor substations, trench/tray layouts, lighting, earthing, and lightning protection layouts.
  • Conduct load flow, short circuit, motor starting, protection relay setting studies, arc flash studies using ETAP or SKM software.
  • Carry out equipment sizing calculations, such as transformer, generator, HV/LV cables, AC UPS, capacitor banks.
  • Prepare technical specifications, technical data sheets for electrical equipment, including transformers, DG sets, switchgear, UPS, battery chargers, and distribution boards.
  • Review vendor drawings for various electrical equipment, including schematics for HV/LV systems.
  • Lead design teams to complete deliverables within time limits and effectively manage tasks through performance management of design engineers and CAD technicians.
  • Ensure accountability, delivery, and profitability by monitoring design costs and sharing knowledge with other staff members to help coach and develop junior team members.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Relevant experience in electrical design for transmission and distribution systems, including GIS/switchyards, up to 400kV AC systems.
  • Experience working with utility companies in the US, UK, Europe, Middle East, or South East Asia is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with the lead office as part of an integrated team.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and a keen interest in learning new skills and adding value to the team/organization.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office and basic knowledge of AutoCAD/3D modeling software like Revit is essential.
