IT System Administrator Job

This position is for an IT System Administrator.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  1. Operating Systems Management: Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software, and hardware to ensure seamless system performance and availability.
  2. Network Administration: Manage and monitor servers, networks, and IT infrastructure to guarantee high uptime and optimal performance.
  3. Troubleshooting and Support: Troubleshoot system issues, diagnose hardware and software failures, and provide effective solutions to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  4. Security Measures: Implement security policies, updates, patches, and firewalls to safeguard IT systems from potential threats.
  5. User Account Management: Administer Active Directory, group policies, and user accounts to ensure secure access to IT resources.
  6. Backup and Recovery: Perform system backups, disaster recovery planning, and data protection activities to prevent data loss and ensure business continuity.
  7. Cloud Services and Virtualization: Support cloud-based services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) to leverage scalability and efficiency.
  8. IT Asset Management: Manage IT assets, including software licenses, hardware inventory, and vendor coordination to optimize resource utilization.
  9. Technical Support: Provide technical support to end-users and resolve IT-related issues in a timely manner.
  10. Documentation: Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to facilitate knowledge sharing and improve team collaboration.
  11. Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux operating systems and networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) is required. Familiarity with security tools, antivirus, and data protection strategies is also essential. Hands-on experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash) for automation is a plus. Understanding of database management (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL) is desirable.
