Web Application Security Engineer Job Description

This is a high-impact role for a skilled Web Application Security Engineer to join our team and contribute to the success of our web application security controls.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in web application firewalls, bot management, and API security controls, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented, and well-organized.

Key responsibilities include working with global tech functions to onboard internet-facing web apps to WAF, reviewing logs, implementing tuning, web blocking, etc. for onboarded applications, mapping IP addresses FQDNs to services and applications, liaising with service owners and associated teams to gather relevant application data for WAF migration purposes, analyzing web behavior and performance to establish acceptable application thresholds, performing policy tuning in accordance with performance baseline, transitioning WAF from transparent to enforcement mode, data cleansing and validation, participating in proof of concepts for new security capabilities, change management, incident, problem management, and on-call rotation.

  • Strong collaboration skills across multiple teams are required.
  • Understanding of ITIL processes is essential.

The successful candidate will help ensure that perimeter security for web properties keeps pace with the changing threat landscape firmwide.
