Job Overview

The Senior Pulmonary Specialist will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and treatment in the field of respiratory medicine.

They will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans, while ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with relevant protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Care:
    • Diagnose and manage a wide range of pulmonary conditions, including asthma, COPD, tuberculosis, and other complex diseases.
    • Attend daily rounds, new admissions, follow-up care, and discharge planning.
    • Manage patients in respiratory wards, HDU, and ICU settings.
  • Procedures & Diagnostics:
    • Perform and interpret various diagnostic tests, such as PFTs, sleep studies, and bronchoscopy.
    • Develop and implement treatment plans based on test results and clinical expertise.
    • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Emergency & ICU Support:
    • Respond promptly to acute respiratory emergencies, such as severe asthma exacerbations and pneumothorax.
    • Initiate and manage oxygen therapy, NIV, or mechanical ventilation as needed.
    • Provide critical care services in HDU and ICU settings.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • MD/DNB in Pulmonary Medicine/Respiratory Medicine/Chest & TB from a recognized institution.
  • Valid registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC)/State Medical Council.
  • 0-3 years post-PG experience in pulmonary/critical care for Senior Residents.
  • 3-5+ years of clinical experience in Pulmonary Medicine for Attending Consultants.
