Job Description: As a senior resident/attending consultant in our intensive care unit (ICU), you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and management. Your primary focus will be on critically ill patients, managing multi-organ failure, sepsis, trauma, respiratory failure, cardiac emergencies, and post-operative complications. You will also be responsible for ventilator management, including invasive and non-invasive ventilation. Additionally, you will utilize advanced monitoring techniques such as arterial lines, central venous pressure (CVP), and pulmonary artery catheterization (if applicable). Furthermore, you will initiate and manage renal replacement therapies (CRRT, HD) as needed. You will also oversee sedation, analgesia, and nutritional support in ICU patients.

Emergency Response: You will respond to code blue and rapid response team calls hospital-wide. You will stabilize and manage acute emergencies in ICU and other hospital areas. This includes managing complex medical situations with limited resources and prioritizing patient safety.

Procedures: As an ICU consultant, you will perform various procedures, including central venous catheterization, arterial line insertion, endotracheal intubation and extubation, chest tube insertion, lumbar puncture, paracentesis, thoracentesis. These procedures are critical to the management of ICU patients and require precise technique and knowledge of anatomy and physiology.

Team Collaboration: You will coordinate with other specialties such as cardiology, neurology, pulmonology, surgery for comprehensive care. You will supervise junior residents, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other ICU staff, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure seamless teamwork.

Qualifications & Experience: For Senior Resident, applicants must have MD / DNB in Critical Care Medicine or Anesthesia / Pulmonary Medicine / Internal Medicine with critical care training. Valid registration with NMC / State Medical Council is required, along with 0–3 years post-PG experience preferred. For Attending Consultant, applicants must have MD / DNB with 3–5+ years experience in ICU and critical care medicine. Expertise in ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and ICU procedures is essential, with fellowship or certification in critical care medicine being advantageous.

Skills & Competencies: Advanced knowledge of critical care protocols and patient management is necessary. Proficiency in mechanical ventilation and invasive monitoring is also required. Ability to perform bedside ICU procedures confidently, leadership and team coordination skills, and strong communication skills for interacting with patients' families and clinical teams are all essential for this role.
