Job Summary:
Solar Project Mechanical Design Engineers are responsible for ensuring the execution of mechanical works aligns with approved engineering designs and industry standards. This role provides real-time design support for site-specific modifications in module mounting structures (MMS), trackers, and mechanical layouts.

About this Role:
This position acts as a bridge between the Head Office (HO) Mechanical Design Team and Site Execution Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and interpreting mechanical design drawings, preparing and modifying site-specific mechanical drawings, conducting wind load and structural stability checks, and verifying MMS foundation positions and tilt angles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and interpret mechanical design drawings issued by HO for MMS, trackers, layout, fabrication drawings, and assembly details.
  • Prepare or modify site-specific mechanical drawings when required for MMS foundation depth adjustments, structure alignment changes, fabrication detailing, and anchoring.
  • Conduct wind load and structural stability checks for site-specific conditions.
  • Verify MMS foundation positions, tilt angles, and row spacing as per design.
  • Support fabrication, welding, and erection quality checks against approved standards.
  • Provide design clarifications and modifications at site and coordinate with HO for approvals.
  • Issue red-marked drawings and as-built drawings after execution.
  • Coordinate with civil and electrical teams to resolve interdisciplinary design issues.
  • Maintain proper documentation of design revisions, approvals, and as-built records.

Requirements:
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design/drafting tools.
  • Strong knowledge of MMS, trackers, and steel structures used in solar projects.
  • Understanding of IS/IEC codes, wind load standards, welding/fabrication practices.
  • Ability to perform basic structural calculations for MMS and support structures.
  • Familiarity with quality inspection of welding, bolting, and module installation.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills for site-level challenges.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
  • 5-8 years of experience in mechanical design and site execution (solar/renewable/industrial projects preferred).
