About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Performance Test Engineer to join our team.

As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving performance test methodologies, principles, patterns, and practices across multiple parallel initiatives. Your expertise in software design principles and patterns will enable you to develop high-quality performance scripts and tests that promote reusability, extensibility, and valid test simulation execution.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement performance test methodologies: Design and create performance test scenarios in an enterprise environment, leveraging application monitoring tools to capture or convert to bellwether performance metrics.
  • Apply software design principles and patterns: Write code to automate configuration, automated use case and API workflow, and ensure that performance scripts and tests are reusable, extensible, and provide valid test simulation execution.
  • Lead and mentor other engineers: Provide technical leadership and guidance in Vertex Performance Engineering Methodology and practices, ensuring that your team is equipped to drive performance engineering techniques.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Software engineering skills: Extensive experience writing code to automate configuration, automated use case and API workflow, and designing, creating, and configuring performance test scenarios in an enterprise environment.
  • Performance tools: Proficient in JMeter, Grafana, and K6, with the ability to apply these tools to drive performance testing.
  • Cloud service providers: Experience working with AWS, with the ability to design and deploy cloud-based performance testing environments.
  • Computer languages: Proficient in Java, JavaScript, and Python, with the ability to write high-quality code for performance testing.
  • DevOps automation: Experienced in DevOps automation, with the ability to integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Performance models: Familiarity with Little's Law, Universal Scalability Law, and Amdahl's Law, with the ability to apply these models to drive performance engineering decisions.
