Technical Architect Job Description

This is a critical role for an experienced Technical Architect to join our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing technical standards, software coding standards, tools, and platforms.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architecting, designing, and developing .NET-based solutions on 3.5/4.0/4.5 frameworks. Hands-on experience with ASP.Net, C#, MVC, Silverlight, HTML5, web service development, and utilization (WCF preferred), W3C standard web application scripting languages and interchanges (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ajax, XML, and JQuery), Microsoft development IDE, and ecology of tools (Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server), SQL Server 2008 is essential.

Azure and related cloud technologies are a plus. The ability to evaluate and ensure integration of industry best practices, perform technical quality assurance, and drive technical evaluation of innovative ideas is also required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement technical standards, software coding standards, tools, and platforms
  • Build architecture that ensures service qualities (performance, security, scalability, etc.) for now and for the future
  • Develop and maintain reusable common components and libraries
  • Evaluate and ensure integration of industry best practices
  • Perform technical quality assurance (before, during, and after development)
  • Drive technical evaluation of innovative ideas
  • Collaborate with project/product managers to provide technical assistance for important decisions
  • Maintain awareness of emerging developments and trends in technology that could impact current projects and influence new projects
  • Lead the evaluation of software tools/vendors targeted for possible integration into the environment
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Overall software development experience: applications development, testing, deployment, standards, best practices, security, hardware, networking, OS, DBMS, middleware, etc.
  • Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
  • Expertise in architecting, designing, and developing .NET-based solutions on 3.5/4.0/4.5 frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with ASP.Net, C#, MVC, Silverlight, HTML5, web service development, and utilization (WCF preferred), W3C standard web application scripting languages and interchanges (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ajax, XML, and JQuery), Microsoft development IDE, and ecology of tools (Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server), SQL Server 2008
  • Experience with Azure and related cloud technologies is a plus
  • Expertise in stored procedures, user-defined functions, database structures, and ADO
  • Experience in data modeling is highly desirable
  • Expertise in lightweight, rapid development, agile methodologies
