Job Description

The role of an Automation Expert for Mainframe z/OS Systems involves developing, testing, and maintaining software that controls a computer's operating system, hardware, and other systems software. This individual must be an expert in troubleshooting and problem-solving, able to fix complex issues that arise.

This automation specialist will ensure the security of our computer systems, work closely with IT professionals to design and implement cutting-edge technology, and provide technical guidance to lead professional work teams.

Responsibilities include conducting RCA discussions, providing ongoing technical and operational guidance, and managing departments on a national or international level.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in installation, configuration, troubleshooting, support, and maintenance of IBM Z/OS Mainframe Automation products
  • Proactive automation solutions, including project lead, client collaboration projects, and technical refresh
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as COBOL, RPG, JCL, PROCS, REXX, Tivoli Netview, Systems Automation for Z/OS, WAC (IBM Worldwide Automation Configurator), and CA-OPS/MVS
  • Ability to work with automation tools such as BMC Auto OPERATOR, BMC MainView Console Management, IBM SA, z/OS and NetView, AF-OPERATOR
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
