Job Opportunity: Senior Accounting Professional

Job Description:

This is a full-time position for a UK-based accounting senior who will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the accounting team.

The successful candidate will lead and mentor the bookkeeping team, review and ensure accuracy in bookkeeping entries, reconciliations, and journals, manage client communication and understand their specific accounting requirements, oversee preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts, ensure accurate and compliant VAT returns and payroll processing in line with UK regulations, coordinate with UK accountants for finalization of accounts and statutory reporting, and develop and refine internal processes to improve team efficiency and service quality.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience in UK accounting standards, including FRS 102.
  • Proven expertise in bookkeeping, payroll, VAT compliance, and preparation of management and final accounts.
  • Experience in accounts payable and receivable management.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Proficient in commonly used UK accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with UK-based clients.
