Job Overview:

A Looker Developer is responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimizing data models, dashboards, and reports to meet business intelligence needs. They must translate business requirements into technical solutions by leveraging LookML and SQL.

  • Create and update Looker data models using LookML, SQL, and Liquid to enable self-service reporting.
  • Design, develop, and enhance Looker dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights and meet specific business needs.
  • Curate and improve data models, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and efficient query performance.
  • Implement best practices for data modeling and caching, and troubleshoot data and performance issues to improve system efficiency.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions within the Looker platform.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and LookML for building Looker models.
  • Proven ability to build interactive dashboards and reports.
  • Understanding of data architecture and modeling concepts to design effective data models.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with various departments.
  • Experience with major RDBMS systems, cloud data platforms, and version control systems like GitHub.
