Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Network Technician to join our team at ADSIPL - Maharashtra. As a key member of our Infrastructure Operations Team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our customers and their rapidly growing businesses by operating world-class data centers.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor the queue for new requests, changes or projects
  • Plan and implement assigned projects as per defined processes and standards
  • Estimate project requirements in terms of time, cost and resources
  • Follow change management guidelines during the execution of projects
  • Work with vendors as needed for the projects and monitor their work
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including network TPM and engineers
  • Remain updated about new technologies, processes and designs
  • Follow safety and security standards
  • Troubleshoot network or physical component issues as needed during deployment
  • Communicate with stakeholders and share regular updates

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • 2+ years of computer networking experience
  • 1+ years of data center experience
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Knowledge of IT system hardware and network concepts
  • Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networks
  • Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment, such as VFL, power meter, and OTDR
  • Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
  • Familiarity with common networking terms
  • Troubleshooting cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords
  • Prior experience in support of physical layer of network infrastructure

Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:



  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
  • Background in large-scale data center network implementations
  • Ethernet and IP networking knowledge and experience in the application of IP protocols
  • Knowledge or awareness of IT best practice frameworks (ITIL, COBIT) and Operational Excellence concepts or methodologies

Physical Requirements

This role requires:



  • The ability to be active and mobile to deliver projects in DC environment and walk around facility as needed
  • Ability to work with personal protective equipment
  • Ability to move and lift computer equipment up to 50lbs with appropriate tools for assistance as needed
  • Occasional work during nights as per project requirements or change schedule

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Deliver simple, sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes.


Work closely with our Network Engineering & Network Technical Project Manager teams to ensure fast, smooth rollout of new designs and products.


TCP/IP networking knowledge


Broad understanding of infrastructure technologies


Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment, such as VFL, power meter, and OTDR


Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies


Familiarity with common networking terms


Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflow


Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles


Up to 20% travel may be required


Troubleshoot networking, routing and inter connectivity issues, including troubleshooting of network device configuration and low level application interaction


Troubleshoot cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords


Complete customer requests via Remedy trouble ticketing system


Participate in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for candidates with:



  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Familiarity with major Internet routing protocols, BGP, OSPF
  • Ethernet and IP networking knowledge and experience in the application of IP protocols
  • Substantial background in large-scale data center network implementations and support
  • Experience working in virtualized enterprise-networking environments
  • Knowledge or awareness of IT best practice frameworks (ITIL, COBIT) and Operational Excellence concepts or methodologies

Other Qualifications & Responsibilities

  • Have experience dealing with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
  • Have effective prioritization and time management

Physical Requirements

This role requires:



  • The ability to sit in front of computer for entire scheduled 8-hour shift with appropriate breaks while maintaining a high level of alertness and attention to detail
  • Ability to move and lift computer equipment up to 50lbs
