Job Title: Senior Database Administrator About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced professional to own the performance, availability and security of our growing fleet of databases across cloud and hybrid environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain, monitor, and tune production and staging MSSQL and PostgreSQL databases to ensure uptime and performance SLAs are met.
  • Manage high availability, backups, restores, replication, and disaster recovery strategies for our database infrastructure.
  • Administer RDS, Aurora, and EC2-hosted database instances in AWS.
Data Architecture & Design
  • Work with engineering teams to model new schemas, optimize indexes, and review queries to improve database performance.
  • Implement and enforce best practices in database normalization, partitioning, and data lifecycle management to ensure data integrity.
Security & Compliance
  • Ensure data encryption, access controls, and audit logging are in place and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Support GDPR/SOC 2/ISO 27001 initiatives by implementing appropriate database controls and evidence collection.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 10+ years of DBA experience, including at least:
  • 5+ years with MSSQL Server (SQL Agent, SSIS, performance tuning)
  • 5+ years with PostgreSQL (query optimization, extensions, logical replication)
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS database services: RDS, Aurora, S3, and IAM integration
  • Solid understanding of SQL query optimization, execution plans, and troubleshooting slow queries
  • Proven track record of managing production-grade environments with strict uptime SLAs
