Job Description

As a skilled Staff Security Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the security posture of our organization.

This hands-on technical position involves significant influence over the security of our code, cloud infrastructure, and products. You will lead efforts to proactively identify vulnerabilities across various applications and infrastructure, working collaboratively with engineering and security teams to design robust defences and integrate security into all deployed solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Application Security:
    • Perform thorough code reviews, threat modeling, and architecture assessments for internal and customer-facing applications.
    • Guide engineering teams on secure design patterns, libraries, and development practices to ensure the highest level of security.
    • Integrate and maintain security tooling (SAST, DAST, SCA) into CI/CD pipelines for efficient and effective security.
    • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to remediate identified vulnerabilities and design secure solutions that meet the highest standards.
  • Penetration Testing:
    • Conduct manual and automated penetration tests against web applications, APIs, infrastructure, and cloud environments to simulate real-world attacks.
    • Assess technical weaknesses and business risks through detailed analysis and create developer-friendly reports with actionable remediation guidance.
    • Re-test findings and validate security fixes in collaboration with product owners to ensure a secure environment.
  • Offensive Security:
    • Plan and execute red team operations, simulating advanced persistent threat (APT) scenarios to test detection and response capabilities.
    • Develop custom tools, scripts, and exploits to test detection and response capabilities and improve overall security.
    • Collaborate with the team to improve detection, logging, and incident response based on attack insights.
    • Contribute to the development of offensive security playbooks and adversary emulation plans to stay ahead of potential threats.
  • Other Responsibilities:
    • Mentor junior team members and evangelize security best practices across the organization to foster a culture of security excellence.
    • Participate in investigations, threat hunting, and incident response activities; build playbooks for specific incident response scenarios.
    • Communicate risks to engineering staff through training and technical demonstration of vulnerabilities and secure design patterns.
    • Support security audits, compliance efforts, and executive briefings with technical depth to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
