Accounting Tech Platform Engineer Role

We are seeking a highly skilled System Reliability Engineer to join our team and contribute to the stability, scalability, and operational excellence of our Accounting and Finance platforms.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for building automation, implementing monitoring and logging systems, improving incident response, and championing DevOps practices that enable Finance and Accounting systems to operate with consistency and trustworthiness.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure Accounting and Finance platforms meet defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and Service Level Indicators (SLIs) for performance, reliability, and uptime.
  • Develop and implement automation for deployments, monitoring, scaling, and self-healing capabilities to reduce manual effort and operational risk.
  • Implement comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and logging for accounting applications and data pipelines, including Snowflake, dbt workflows, and ERP integrations.
  • Lead and participate in on-call rotations, perform root cause analysis, and drive improvements to prevent recurrence of production issues.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for capacity planning, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and compliance controls in financial systems.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, and Finance/Accounting teams to ensure operational needs are met from development through production.
  • Ensure financial applications and data pipelines meet audit, compliance, and security requirements.
  • Drive post-incident reviews, implement lessons learned, and proactively identify opportunities to improve system resilience.

Required skills and qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or related field, along with 3-5 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Production Engineering. Strong experience with monitoring/observability tools, CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools is also necessary.

A strong scripting/programming background in languages such as Python, Bash, Go, or similar is required for automation and tooling. Proven ability to manage incident response and conduct blameless postmortems is also essential.
