Senior Software Reliability Engineer

Job Summary:

As a Senior Software Reliability Engineer, you will play a key role in driving the adoption of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices and culture within our organization. You will work closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and develop solutions to enhance the reliability and efficiency of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to design and implement SRE practices and tools
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop and maintain high-quality software designs and roadmaps
  • Ensure that systems are robust, stable, and do not incur additional toil or technical debt
  • Provide advice and mentoring to junior engineers on SRE principles and practices
  • Evolve and debug critical components of applications and platforms

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering
  • Expertise in site reliability culture and principles with demonstrated ability to implement SRE within an application or platform
  • Knowledge and experience in observability, including white and black box monitoring, service level objectives, alerting, and telemetry collection
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and microservice-based design principles
  • Ability to design and develop solutions for automation and toil reduction using common programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
