Job Summary

Assystem is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineering Manager to lead the engineering activities of substation projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and experience in managing projects from conception to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with project planning manager to ensure deliveries align with project schedule
  • Conduct regular project review meetings to ensure adherence to schedule
  • Conduct internal review meetings for resource optimization, allocation, and productivity enhancement
  • Review designs, calculations, and drawings to ensure timely submissions after obtaining customer approvals
  • Clarify issues with vendors and ensure timely delivery of materials at project sites
  • Capable of multitasking and delivering multiple tasks on time
  • Clarify inter-discipline manager issues for sorting out design aspects of equipment
  • Enable and review accurate estimation in terms of quantity for submission of Bill of Materials
  • Review critical issues and procedural delays related to design aspects of equipment and extend support to site execution teams
  • Ensure BIM implementation in projects
  • Settle procurement issues and extend support to supply chain management for ensuring order finalization for vendor engineering
  • Extend support for BOQ, review of pre-bid offers, and technical submissions, and provide post-tender clarifications to contracts team
  • Lead and manage teams of design leads, design engineers, and draughts persons
  • Review vendor evaluation related to technical specification requirements of clients
  • Extend support to site execution teams for commercial issues and processing of bills
  • Ensure issuance of manufacturing clearance by undertaking and facilitating necessary communication with suppliers
  • Communicate and clarify deliverable lists from clients and obtaining resource requirements for projects
Requirements

The Project Engineering Manager shall have overall expertise in both primary and secondary engineering for substation projects. The Manager is required to have a thorough understanding of design aspects of GIS/AIS substations up to 765 KV. She/He is required to be proficient in selecting equipment such as power transformers, reactors, circuit breakers, disconnectors, and instrument transformers. She/He shall be well-versed in substation primary and secondary design, including earthing, lighting, lightning protection, cabling, and interfaces between civil, MEP, and instrumentation and secondary engineering activities like schemes, wiring diagrams, SCADA, and control systems.
