Commercial Contract Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our legal team as a Commercial Contract Specialist.

This role plays a crucial function in ensuring compliance, document integrity, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and negotiate terms and conditions for various commercial contracts, including NDAs, statements of work, master agreements, and data privacy agreements.
  • Solve any contract-related problems that may arise with other parties and internally.
  • Develop creative solutions and draft alternative terms, working closely with attorneys within the Legal team.
  • Obtain approval for non-standard terms in accordance with internal policies.
  • Educate internal teams on conformity and consistency in contract terms and legal obligations.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of legal administrative processes and documents.
  • Partner with internal teams to drive process improvements and ensure exceptional customer experience.

Requirements:

  • University level degree or equivalent, with 4-6 years' experience negotiating legal terms & conditions.
  • Training or education in law, paralegal skills, negotiation, or legal writing is required.
  • Familiarity with media organizations is desirable.
  • Must be able and willing to work flexible hours.
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Experience working with commercial contract management and a good understanding of contract and commercial law.
  • Ability to manage complex issues and apply legal, financial, and business principles to contracting.
  • Adept in use of digital tools, document systems, and MS Office - particularly advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Comfortable working as part of a cross-functional team in a high-volume and fast-paced environment.
