We are seeking a seasoned Database Professional to oversee the performance, security, and scalability of our database infrastructure.

This role involves designing data architectures that ensure high availability and reliability, while working closely with development teams to optimize queries and data pipelines.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing production-grade databases across multiple platforms, including MSSQL and PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and monitor databases for optimal performance and uptime
  • Design scalable data architectures to meet business needs
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize database performance and resolve issues

AWS Cloud Expertise:

  • Administer RDS, Aurora, and EC2-hosted database instances
  • Monitor database performance using CloudWatch and third-party tools

Data Architecture & Design:

  • Work with engineering teams to model new schemas and optimize indexes
  • Implement best practices in database normalization and partitioning

Security & Compliance:

  • Ensure data encryption and access controls are in place
  • Support compliance initiatives with appropriate database controls

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of DBA experience, including 5+ years with MSSQL and 5+ years with PostgreSQL
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS database services, including RDS and S3
  • Solid understanding of SQL query optimization and execution plans
