Job Title: SQL Database Administrator

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor SQL Server health and performance, ensuring smooth operations and performing routine maintenance tasks.
  • Perform database backups, restores, and indexing.
  • Carry out database installation, configuration, and patching.
  • Respond to support tickets related to database issues.
  • Monitor scheduled jobs and troubleshoot failures.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior DBAs when necessary.
  • Maintain documentation of database configurations and support procedures.
  • Provide on-call support under supervision.
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) drills.
  • Perform database refresh activities across environments.
  • Assist in Always On configuration & maintenance.
  • Manage database security (user logins and access permissions).

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-4 years of total experience.
  • Graduation in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline preferred.

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of MS SQL Server administration.
  • Hands-on experience in database backup and restore processes.
  • Understanding of job monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with database security and user management.

Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to automation tools or scripting (PowerShell, T-SQL).
  • Knowledge of enterprise monitoring tools.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and process management.

This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SQL Server administration and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

This is an onsite contract role based in Mumbai.
