Job Overview

The Technical Superintendent plays a pivotal role in ensuring the day-to-day technical operations of our vessels run smoothly.

This is a critical position that oversees the seaworthiness of our vessels, monitors their performance, and identifies areas for improvement.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining compliance with Company IMS, international regulations, and flag requirements.

  1. Oversee daily technical operations to ensure vessel seaworthiness
  2. Monitor vessel performance, analyze defects, and implement corrective actions
  3. Manage PMS compliance, propose database improvements, and control operating costs
  4. Ensure certification and documentation validity, liaise with classification societies and flag authorities as needed
  5. Prepare vessels for inspections, ensure readiness
  6. Monitor speed and fuel efficiency, implement improvements

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure vessel seaworthiness and oversee daily technical operations
  • Monitor vessel performance, analyze defects, and implement prompt closures
  • Manage PMS compliance, propose database improvements, and control operating costs
  • Maintain certification and documentation validity, liaise with classification societies and flag authorities as needed
  • Prepare vessels for oil major vetting and inspections, ensure readiness
  • Monitor speed and fuel efficiency, implement improvements
  • Ensure compliance with Company IMS, international regulations, and flag requirements
  • Coordinate procurement of spares and equipment, plan and supervise dry-docking and repairs
  • Provide technical guidance and training to onboard crew, conduct periodic vessel inspections, and investigate incidents

Requirements

  • 10-12 years of experience in the shipping industry, with 2+ years as a Chief Engineer and at least 2 years of shore experience as Superintendent
  • Experience on large sea-going vessels, ME engines, and cranes/grabs (for bulk carriers)
  • Strong understanding of TMSA and Rightship requirements, safety culture promotion, and environmental protection measures
