Job Title: Middleware Administrator

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Middleware Administrator at Awign Expert. As a Middleware Administrator, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of middleware application software. You will work closely with our development team to ensure the smooth operation of our applications and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and maintenance of middleware application software, including Apache, Tomcat, JBoss, and IBM WebSphere.
  • Patch management and fixpack upgrade, adhering to company policies for patch management, change management, and other applicable processes.
  • Closure of reported open vulnerabilities within the specified timeframe.
  • Performance monitoring and configuration changes.
  • Monitoring of CPU and memory utilization and providing daily reports and alerts.
  • Configuration of data sources for applications.
  • Assisting in production deployment.
  • Providing monthly reports on authorized user access and seeking internal approvals.
  • Clustering and HA setup and maintenance on all Web, App, Rabbit MQ.
  • Backup and recovery on middleware.
  • Developing scripts to apply security best practices and hardening to middleware and messaging platforms.
  • Periodic backup and DR strategy for middleware and MQ configurations.
  • Implementing monitoring standards, automated alerting, and integration with the incident management tool.
  • Overall capacity planning and driving performance benchmarking exercises.
  • Handling escalations for high-impacting P1 incidents.
  • Planning patch management and ensuring up-to-date inventory.
  • Generating self-signed SSL certificates, key pairs for encryption and decryption.
  • Performing proof of concept exercises, vendor evaluations, feasibility studies for new tools/products, and planning a roadmap for production deployment.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of hardware and associated peripherals.
  • Understanding of network and internet connectivity.
  • Understanding of information security.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience in production support/monitoring function.
  • Basic understanding of SDLC.
