About the Role

We are seeking an experienced CAD Designer to join our team in India. As a senior-level designer, you will be responsible for developing thermoformed interior components for the railway industry using SolidWorks.

This is a challenging role that requires not just CAD skills but deep engineering understanding, strong customer communication, and the ability to deliver manufacturable, cost-optimized solutions while minimizing changes to tooling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop interior thermoformed panels for trains using SolidWorks.
  • Translate customer requirements into production-ready 3D and 2D designs.
  • Adapt panel designs to changing project requirements while ensuring minimal tool modifications.
  • Engineer the rear side construction of panels, including reinforcements, ventilation solutions, and mounting details.
  • Collaborate with European clients to align technical feasibility, cost efficiency, and manufacturability.
  • Evaluate designs against industry standards, safety requirements, and customer specifications.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in CAD design for thermoformed plastic components.
  • SolidWorks expert level surface modeling, assemblies, tool-related adjustments.
  • Strong background in railway, automotive, or transportation interiors.
  • Knowledge of plastics material properties, tooling, and production processes.
  • Ability to translate conceptual sketches into manufacturable designs.
  • Excellent communication skills for customer interaction and engineering discussions.
  • Independent, structured, and detail-oriented working style.
