Accounts Payable Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounts Payable Specialist to manage the accounts payable function for our U.S.-based real estate properties.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills, as well as excellent problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems is required, with experience in Yardi being a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Invoices: Accurately process invoices, expense reports, and vendor payments in compliance with U.S. GAAP and IRS regulations.
  • Vendor Management: Manage vendor onboarding, updates, and issue resolution to ensure seamless payment processes.
  • Reconciliation: Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Support Month-End Close: Collaborate with property managers and internal teams to support month-end close, accruals, and reporting activities.
  • Payment Processing: Prepare payments via checks, ACH, and wire transfers while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience in Accounts Payable, preferably with U.S.-based accounting exposure.
  • Real Estate Sector: Experience in the U.S. real estate sector is a strong plus.
  • Accounting Software: Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; Yardi experience preferred.
  • GAAP and IRS Regulations: Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and IRS regulations related to AP.
  • Excel Skills: Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Tax Laws: Familiarity with U.S. tax laws and regulations.
  • Financial Planning: Experience with financial planning and analysis.
  • Budgeting: Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques.
  • Data Analysis: Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights.
