Location:Our offices are located in New York, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, London, and Gurgaon. This role will be based out of our Gurgaon office, offering flexibility to work in the office and from home.
About the Role:The Creative Director for TMB's India DesignWorks team is a collaborative leader responsible for overseeing motion designers, graphic designers, and photo researchers assigned to the company's digital, video, and print products. Reporting to the VP/Creative, you will apply your design expertise and leadership skills to ensure the team's creative processes result in quality, on-brand visual direction that meets the demands of our brands and business.
About You:A dedicated manager, you will foster a culture where delivering creative excellence and efficiency are the norm. You will lead by example, motivating your team through your calm, collaborative nature and fiscally sound creativity. You will encourage an environment where ideas are eagerly shared, and support and mentoring are in the team's DNA. You will be dedicated to bringing brand positioning and voice to life in your own and your team's visual design work and understand the inherent connection between compelling content and a strong reader experience.
Your Day-to-Day:- Manage the art directors and designers who create visual assets for TMB's digital, video, and print products
- Understand the capacity of each team to identify ways to provide cross-brand support
- Provide ongoing constructive feedback to ensure their work meets product and brand standards; mentor managers and team members to build skills and autonomy
- Actively participate in the TMB Design Leadership Group, a team that meets monthly to elevate overall design-thinking within the company, with associate creative director of digital and motion graphics design
- Contribute to product innovation for TMB's brands, routinely bringing new ideas to the table as a way to expand the breadth and depth of each brand's offerings
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design
- 10+ years of design experience, ideally in digital or video graphic design but with some experience in print
- At least five years' experience managing a high-performance team
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining positive relationships with design, editorial, and production team members to deliver creative products that drive successful business results
- Strong collaborative skills and eagerness to partner with business unit leaders to enhance brand opportunities
- A network of freelance designers, illustrators, and other creative talent to tap into assignments
- An organized, thorough, and deadline-oriented approach to working with an ability to recognize when a content product or experience is ready to move forward
- A 'we' not 'me' leadership style that encourages the open sharing of ideas, strategies, and successes
- Experience with content production tools such as Adobe Create Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro)
- Experience working with AI tools like ChatGPT, MidJourney, and the Firefly features within the Adobe Creative Suite
