The WSP Aviation team is seeking an experienced Airfield Engineer to be the Principal Engineer within our Indian office, with the potential to become the GCC Airfield Engineering Team Lead as the team grows and develops.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be the first member of this team and will form a crucial role in its growth and development. The Principal Engineer will be responsible for delivering airfield civil engineering design and maintenance projects through various stages of design from feasibility/ option studies to detailed design and onto construction for various clients both in the UK and overseas.

  • Act as the design lead for airfield civil engineering projects.
  • Take ownership of the successful delivery of projects whilst giving leadership and direction to more junior team members, including planning their work and managing the delivery of multiple technical engineering projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have sound technical abilities to help enhance and grow the team. They will be knowledgeable and experienced in Civil Engineering projects at airports and preferably have a degree in Civil Engineering.

  • 10 years of civil infrastructure design experience at airports.
  • Civil engineering experience of working on large, technically complex multi-disciplinary airport projects from concept through to detailed design and construction support.
  • Experience managing engineering professionals in the delivery of technical aviation projects.

Knowledge and understanding of international airfield design standards such as ICAO and FAA are preferable but not essential. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) is also desirable.
