Job Opportunity:

A data engineering role is available in Mumbai, India, for a hedge fund. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing tools used to create new data sources and monitor key production systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Quality Assurance:
    • Develop and maintain a platform ensuring the quality of our data pipelines, alerting stakeholders to critical production issues.
  • Library Enhancement:
    • Maintain and improve shared libraries used by developers across the data function, facilitating rapid onboarding of new datasets.
  • Cross-functional Collaborations:
    • Design, build, and document integrations with other teams' processes, alerting them to relevant issues with our data assurance system.
  • System Observability:
    • Build out the observability stack (logs, metrics, tracing) to monitor our data assurance system and other tools for data pipeline lifecycle management.
  • Platform Support Services:
    • Support users in best practice usage of our tooling, migrate code to the latest standards, investigate, debug, and resolve issues with our platform.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in data engineering or data-adjacent engineering roles.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and proficiency in Python.
  • Experience with workflow orchestration frameworks (e.g., Argo, Celery, Airflow).
  • Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and internal service integrations.
  • Experience with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch).
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred).
