Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Web Development Specialist to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will have 3–4 years of experience in WordPress and PHP development, with expertise in custom theme and plugin development.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, customizing, and maintaining high-performance and scalable web solutions using WordPress themes and plugins, PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery. They will also integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, and external services, optimize website performance for speed, SEO, and scalability, and troubleshoot and debug issues to ensure robust, secure, and high-quality applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress themes and plugins.
  2. Build dynamic and responsive websites using PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery.
  3. Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, and external services.
  4. Optimize website performance for speed, SEO, and scalability.
  5. Troubleshoot and debug issues to ensure robust, secure, and high-quality applications.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3–4 years of professional experience in WordPress and PHP development.
  • Expertise in custom theme and plugin development.
  • Strong proficiency in PHP and familiarity with frameworks like Laravel or CodeIgniter (optional but preferred).
  • Solid understanding of MySQL database design, optimization, and integration.
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and Bootstrap.
  • Experience integrating REST APIs and other third-party services.
  • Familiarity with Git and collaborative workflows in distributed teams.
  • Strong knowledge of SEO best practices, security standards, and website performance optimization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills — must be able to clearly articulate ideas, requirements, and technical solutions.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with WooCommerce development and customization.
  • Familiarity with React or another front-end framework for advanced work.
  • Knowledge of Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud hosting environments.
  • Experience in WordPress security hardening and compliance best practices.
