SCADA Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled SCADA engineer to lead the design, configuration, and deployment of Ignition SCADA and MES applications across manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in real-time data acquisition, visualization, and reporting solutions. They must be able to ensure seamless integration of OT systems with enterprise IT systems, develop secure data exchange using REST APIs, MQTT, and OPC UA protocols, and manage industrial databases for high availability and performance.

This role requires strong technical leadership skills, collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams, and mentoring junior engineers. The successful candidate will provide technical guidance on digital transformation initiatives, such as Industry 4.0 smart manufacturing and predictive analytics, and troubleshoot optimize existing SCADA MES deployments.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven expertise with Ignition SCADA, including scripting module configuration and project deployment
  • Strong background in MES functions, production tracking, OEE downtime analysis, traceability, SPC, etc.
  • Proficiency with database technologies, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL or equivalent
  • Experience with OT-IT integration technologies, REST APIs, MQTT, and OPC UA
  • Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, PLC, SCADA HMIs, and plant floor connectivity
  • Familiarity with manufacturing standards ISA95, ISA88, ISA99, IEC 62443
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Experience with cloud-based IIoT platforms Azure IoT, AWS IoT, etc.
