Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned DB2 systems expert to manage, optimize and support our database environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in DB2 administration, performance tuning, high availability, backup/recovery strategies, and troubleshooting critical production issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, upgrade and maintain DB2 database systems.
  • Perform database performance monitoring, tuning and optimization.
  • Manage backup, recovery, disaster recovery and high availability solutions.
  • Implement and enforce database security, user access control and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with application teams to support database design, query optimization and schema changes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents, outages and performance issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 8–10 years of hands-on experience in DB2 database administration (LUW and/or z/OS).
  • Strong expertise in performance tuning, query optimization and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with HADR, Data Sharing and replication technologies.
  • Proficiency in backup/recovery strategies, DR planning and execution.
  • Solid understanding of database security, roles and privileges.
  • Hands-on experience with scripting (Shell/Perl/Python) and automation tools.
  • Knowledge of OS-level concepts (Linux/Unix/Windows) related to DB2.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with ability to work in 24x7 production environments.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Bonus Requirements:
  • Exposure to cloud database services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of other RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
  • Experience with DevOps/CI-CD integration for databases.
