Logistics Operations Manager Role Summary

This role is responsible for the day-to-day execution of logistics operations, ensuring smooth and cost-efficient movement of goods. The Assistant Manager – Logistics will be responsible for implementing logistics plans, coordinating with internal teams and logistics partners, and monitoring stock levels.

Key Responsibilities:


• Develop and implement logistics plans for timely deliveries and optimal efficiency.


• Assist in route planning and shipment scheduling to ensure seamless execution.


• Coordinate with logistics partners and internal teams to ensure effective collaboration.

Inventory Management and Control:


• Monitor inventory levels and support inventory audits to maintain accuracy.


• Ensure proper documentation during goods receipt, storage, and dispatch to prevent discrepancies.


• Maintain product storage and safety standards to ensure compliance.

Transportation Coordination and Vendor Relations:


• Track inbound and outbound shipments and escalate delays or issues promptly.


• Coordinate with transporters and third-party logistics providers to ensure smooth transportation.


• Support negotiation and execution of transportation agreements to optimize costs.

Compliance and Documentation:


• Maintain accurate logistics records and shipment documentation to ensure compliance.


• Follow safety protocols and assist in periodic risk assessments to identify potential hazards.

Reporting and Cost Monitoring:


• Provide regular logistics updates and reports to management.


• Track logistics expenses and highlight cost-optimization opportunities to improve efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications:


• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.


• 2–4 years of experience in logistics or warehouse operations.


• Working knowledge of logistics software (e.g., SAP, WMS) and MS Excel.


• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.


• Valid driver's license (preferred) and willingness to travel if required.


• Ability to work extended hours during high-volume periods and adapt to changing priorities.
