Principal Software Development Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to fill this key position.
- This is a full-time contract role that requires the candidate to work from home.
The ideal candidate will have proficient knowledge of Linux, bash scripting, C, and Python. They should be able to compile and create software from source code, including knowledge of GCC and its flags. Additionally, they must be familiar with build system tools like autotools, meson, ninja, cmake, make, pkg-config, scons, etc.
The successful candidate will be responsible for tracking software dependencies, patching, creating/providing/managing software patches, and maintaining changelogs and other documentation. They should also possess good troubleshooting skills and be able to review changes.
Knowledge of CVS and Git is required, as well as the ability to connect with upstream developers for solutions if needed. A huge plus would be familiarity with Slackware Linux, as candidates with this knowledge will be prioritized over those with Redhat or Debian experience.
Non-technical skills required include fluency in English with good verbal and written skills, the ability to work independently and in a team, and the capacity to resolve assigned tasks within specified timeframes/deadlines.
