About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Radio Programming Director to join our team at Mirchi. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for creating engaging radio content and developing talented individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement innovative programming strategies to increase listenership and maintain a strong market presence.
  • Collaborate with the programming and sales teams to create effective marketing interventions, driving revenue growth through creative solutions.
  • Conceptualize fresh programming initiatives, on-air campaigns, and events that enhance brand differentiation and recall.
  • Mentor local RJs, fostering their growth as local celebrities and investing time in identifying and nurturing talent from within the market.
  • Nurture relationships with local artists and creatives to bring cutting-edge talent to the station.
  • Promote radio as a preferred medium for both listeners and advertisers.
  • Manage personnel effectively, providing regular feedback and coaching to optimize performance.
  • Identify and develop talented jocks, ensuring adherence to guidelines.
  • Monitor and address talent gaps by spotting local talent to fill vacancies.

Internal Stakeholder Management

  • The Station Head, Cluster Programming Head, and Regional Programming Head will rely on your expertise and leadership skills.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience in radio programming or a related field.
  • Excellent reading habits, keeping up-to-date with local and national events.
  • Proficiency in Kannada language (spoken and written).
  • Digital content conceptualization experience.
