Head IP Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IP Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and protecting the intellectual property of our organization.
The role will involve reviewing designs and identifying potential areas of IP legal risk, planning and executing risk mitigation strategies, and strengthening the culture of technology and innovation within our organization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing NPD designs for IP risks and initiating actions to de-risk designs/products;
- Performing advanced patent and competitor portfolio analysis for patent literature and non-patent literature;
- Working closely with IP attorneys and legal associates to review and recommend FTO decisions;
- Planning and conducting BOM FTO reviews for NPD at product level across automotive technology domains;
- Implementing best-in-class practices, standardizing processes, and enhancing productivity through digitalization;
- Releasing periodic IP alerts and reviewing concerns from stakeholders;
- Managing projects/business clusters independently;
- Performing searches across multiple jurisdictions and liaising with legal associates;
- Reviewing and resolving claim interpretation issues in FTO with stakeholders;
Qualifications include a Graduate/PG/PhD qualification in Engineering (Mechanical/Electronics/Automotive/Material Science) and relevant certifications such as WON, WIPO DL101, and DFSS. Experience in IP law and working with industry best practices is also essential.
