Financial Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Accountant to manage the financial operations of our organization. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with US taxation and accounting standards for venture capital funds.

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day fund accounting activities, including maintaining general ledgers, journals, and financial statements. They will also prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for stakeholders, ensuring accurate and timely submission.

Key responsibilities include:

Additionally, the Financial Accountant will oversee fund performance tracking, including cash flow management, capital calls, distributions, and investor reporting. They will ensure compliance with US taxation laws for venture capital funds, including preparation and filing of tax returns (such as 1065, K-1, etc.).

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience in financial accounting, fund accounting, or a related role, with a strong understanding of US taxation for venture capital firms. They should also have experience in payroll management for Indian employees, with in-depth knowledge of Indian tax laws (TDS, Provident Fund, ESI, etc.).

A strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards, including US GAAP and fund accounting practices, is required. Experience with accounting software and tools, preferably QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms, is also necessary.

The Financial Accountant will work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting, tax compliance, and payroll operations. They will also assist in the preparation of financial reports and audits, providing insights into the financial health of the firm.

Required qualifications include:

  • 4+ years of experience in financial accounting, fund accounting, or a related role, with a strong understanding of US taxation for venture capital firms.
