About This Role

We're seeking an expert in site reliability engineering to drive automation and efficiency in an investment bank or product company. The successful candidate will be a seasoned Vice President Site Reliability Engineering with a strong background in reducing toil and improving operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement SRE strategies to reduce toil and improve operational efficiency through the implementation of automation, reduction of delay and redundancy, and improvement of service quality/SLA.
  2. Promote an 'Automate-first' culture by implementing automation and eliminating delay and redundancy, and assisting in developing engineering and operational service metrics with actionable plans to improve operational efficiency.
  3. Work with all parties to develop and implement Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for critical services, and design and implement monitoring strategies with engineering teams and implement appropriate capabilities.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Hands-on experience as an SRE Practitioner with 5+ years working experience in SRE roles, defining and implementing SLOs, operating to Error Budgets, and implementing and operating monitoring and observability technologies for enterprise-grade Production systems.
  • Practical experience in a corporate software development lifecycle methodology and some experience implementing GitOps is a plus, along with a solid understanding of technical systems and interactions, strong analytical skills, and a strong understanding of all critical Production Support processes.
  • 2+ years of experience with one/more public/private cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure etc.).
