Job Overview
Western Union is seeking a Quality Assurance Director to lead our quality assurance efforts in India. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for defining testing strategies and methodologies, managing a team of quality assurance associates, and ensuring quality solutions are delivered.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement testing and quality assurance artifacts for new and existing software.
  2. Ensure that software functionality is implemented according to product stakeholder needs.
  3. Recommend improvements to existing software programs, especially for unit tests.
  4. Log and track system flaws using the JIRA issue tracking system.
  5. Troubleshoot application issues and coordinate issue resolution with operations, functional, and technical teams.
  6. Work with a software development team and Service providers in a geographically distributed structure.
  7. Ensure the implementation of high-end, business-wide, critical strategy set by senior management.
  8. Provide direct oversight of quality assurance team, adhering to QA standards and SLAs, and escalating risks and issues to the Engineering Delivery Head.
  9. Invest time on a daily basis on all projects to remove impediments and provide solutions to technical challenges and make escalations as necessary.
  10. Define and revise (if needed) metric/performance reporting under directions from Engineering Delivery Head to ensure viability of service levels.
  11. Participate in capacity and program planning exercises.
  12. Hire, manage and mentor 2-4 test leads who will manage a team of 6-10 engineers.

Requirements:
  1. 12+ years of IT leadership and management experience in QA.
  2. Must be a problem solver with demonstrated experience in solving difficult technology challenges, with a can-do attitude.
  3. Strong Experience in API and back end testing.
  4. Knowledge accessing relational databases (e.g. SQL scripting).
  5. Self-starter with ability to multi-task, prioritize, manage workload, and consistently deliver results.
  6. Prior experience leading onshore and offshore delivery, including working overlapping business hours to partner with onshore teams. Capable to manage big team (40+ people).
  7. Experience in Agile and Iterative development methodologies.
  8. Strong communication skills with ability to interact with developers and product stakeholders globally.
  9. Technical areas of expertise:
  10. Experience with test management systems (e.g. HP Test Director).
  11. Strong background in test writing to provide full spectrum testing.
  12. Functional Stability, Performance Reliability, System Resource Utilization, Usability.
  13. Experience with core Java, API Testing related tools like Karate, Postman.
  14. Familiar with deployment strategies, including creation and oversight of multiple QA environments.
  15. Good to Excellent written communication skills, including technical documentation.
  16. Practical experience with creation of, and adherence to, an agile development scheduled for testing.
  17. Background in working with product stakeholders to organize, develop and execute User Acceptance Tests.
  18. Modeling experience for system execution workflows (e.g. UML Activity Diagrams) to aid in full system test coverage.
  19. Experience with selecting/creating appropriate test data, and practiced at Structured Query Language (SQL) to validate system's correct data handling.
  20. Experience with automation of test scripting, API testing.
  21. Ability to utilize issue tracking analysis to identify focus areas of improvement based on quality assurance findings.

Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits such as health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
