Senior Intercompany Accounting Lead

Seeking a seasoned accounting professional to lead our intercompany team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a small team of accountants, overseeing their day-to-day operations and resolving any queries or issues that may arise.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the intercompany accounting team and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the intercompany accounting process at Medline, including IC balances elimination logics in Oracle FCCS.
  • Review month-end activities performed by the intercompany team, including handling billing for IC transactions of US entities, reviewing global IC BS and P&L variances, and coordinating with stakeholders to resolve global IC variances.
  • Post top-side entries in Oracle FCCS for high-value variances remaining open at month-end.
  • Review BS reconciliation of IC GLs in detail, ensuring all necessary backups are available and well-documented, and provide feedback to team members with required action plans.
  • Timely and effectively follow up with global controllers on pending data and open queries.
  • Handle queries from audit and tax teams as needed.
  • Provide solutions to multiple stakeholders on ad-hoc and regular queries.
  • Establish effective communication between the team and stakeholders.
  • Process improvement initiatives include standardizing IC processes, assigning end-to-end activities to team members to enhance business knowledge, identifying potential automation opportunities via transformation projects, and strategizing plans to achieve team goals within stipulated timeframes.
  • IC Process Documentation & Cross Training: Improved Standard Operating Procedures with detailed steps and created backup layers for business continuity planning.
  • Team Management: Monitor team performance, report on metrics to ensure efficiency, document findings, and provide coaching as needed.
