Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

This role is ideal for an individual with a strong passion for environmental sustainability and safety. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective health and safety strategies to ensure a safe working environment.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice on environmental health and safety matters to management and employees.
  • Collaborate with management to promote and implement EHS strategies, procedures, guidelines, and goals for continuous improvement at all assigned sites.
  • Offer support to management in implementing EHS strategies, procedures, guidelines, and legislation to achieve company objectives.
  • Identify, review, and communicate potential environment and health impacts, providing proactive support in mitigating risks through regular site visits and practical solutions.
  • Evaluate and report accurate measurements of EHS issues.
  • Advise Division/BU management on EHS compliance.
  • Assist in completing risk assessments & JSA where required, ensuring regular reviews with mitigation measures.
  • Report all accidents, diseases, dangerous occurrences to relevant statutory bodies within defined legal frameworks and timelines.
  • Record, report, and investigate all accidents and near misses according to company procedures, identifying and implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain and update relevant EHS records (e.g., policy documentation, risk assessments, safety data sheets, registers, fire drills, training records).
  • Ensure effective training and instruction for all employees, including temporary staff and contractors, through the company's competency development program.
  • Action on employee complaints relating to Health, Safety, or Welfare, communicating through company channels and bringing attention to concerned authorities as required.
  • Stay up-to-date on legal requirements, workplace hazards, company EHS policy, and procedures.
  • Promote employee participation and involvement in EHS issues, addressing complaints and breaches promptly.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science.
  • Degree or recognized Diploma in Occupational Health and Hygiene from ADIS (RLI/CLI) / State.
  • Graduation from a GOVT recognized institute or Premium Institute of the Nation like IIT, NITIE & NICMAR.
  • Certified Lead Auditor.
  • NEBOSH IGC Experience (mandatory): Minimum 7-10 years of experience in EHS function, strong experience in on-the-job coaching, fluent English (spoken and written). Significant experience in construction, Power plant, manufacturing, engineering, or project management, and Sustainable Development desirable.
