Research Chemist

As a Research Associate, you will be responsible for the synthesis and purification of novel chemical compounds for drug discovery. This involves applying your knowledge of organic chemistry principles to design and execute experiments, as well as characterizing the resulting compounds using various analytical techniques.

You will work closely with colleagues to move chemistry projects forward, ensuring safe conduct of reactions and maintaining strict adherence to lab practices. Additionally, you will apply your expertise in TLC, column purification, extraction, and handling pyrophoric reactions to isolate and purify target compounds.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of functional group conversion and multi-step synthesis techniques, as well as basic knowledge of retrosynthetic analysis. Proficiency in conducting literature searches using tools such as Reaxys is also essential.

A master's degree in Organic Chemistry or a related field, or M. Pharma, is required. Prior experience in the pharmaceutical or CRO industry is highly desirable, particularly in roles involving drug discovery and development.
